Valerie Jarrett is one of Barack Obama’s closest advisors and longtime friends. By Obama’s side during the rough and tumble campaign, she is apparently lathered with diplomatic skills. She became known for fencing off his critics and adversaries.Vernon Jordan said that Jarrett developed “the art of telling people to go to hell and making them look forward to the trip.”
