Using humour, US President Bill Clinton conceded things in his speeches that he had never acknowledged anywhere else.Clinton never called a press conference to concede that his administration got off to a rocky start, despite fiascos such as the issue of gays in the military, a rejected economic stimulus package and a $400 haircut.
But when his first appearance at the White House Correspondence coincided with his first one hundred days in office, the President joked to the White House press corps: "I don't think I'm doing that bad. On the 100th day after his inauguration, William Henry Harrison was already dead for 68 days."
